Here's the Fortified Keep from the Building Deck! The last bastion of hope for the city if it's walls are breached! Once again, I love all the little details he puts in his work, like the little chickens, the subtle shadows, and that it's snowing!
Here is the card back for the Refugee deck! We're very excited about how these stained glass-style paintings are coming! Only 2 more to go, and we'll have the complete set!
Here's the game title for After the Empire! We love how it turned out. It's legible, but still very cool looking! We're very excited to start putting this on game boxes! (And thanks to Baconstrap for letting me poorly tweak his Ladders art to put this on top).
Check out the Storehouse from the Building deck! It's an upgrade to the Granary basic building and helps you weather longs months of siege your city must sustain. I love the light, and of course the kitty!

So, he's been working on a project for us to make the back side for each of the 4 decks. Here's what he's made for us for the Siege deck. I love how the light spills through the window onto the stone! He even managed to get the city wall in there behind the catapult! Very excited to see the other three decks!
So, he's taking a break from working on our game board to make the Granary basic building card. He made it just as gray and dreary as I had hoped...the peasants carting sacks of grain through the mud on a dull and thankless day. And, of course, we've got some sweet mud puddle reflections, which I'm a sucker for!
Here's his Salt the Earth from the Siege Deck, which actually finishes off the art for the entire deck! He recently contacted us and we're happy to have him join our already wonderful team of artists. Believe it or not, this is actually our 3rd incredible artist we're glad to have from Sweden!
Check out the Almshouse from the Building deck! I'm a sucker for a good mud puddle reflection. I really like the light through the doorway, and the kinda creepy figure in the window above. Only one building left to go and the deck will be complete!
Here's his Old John's Forge for the Building deck. I love the forge, the chains, and the still hot metal he's fashioning into a sword. Tomas is doing a great job making lots of great art for us while some of our other artists are busy working on our game board...which I'm also very excited to see!
Here's the Feast Hall from the Building Deck. Aside from the incredible artistry, I love the warmth of this piece. Tomas has been a wonderful addition to our already great team of artists for After the Empire.
This is the Refugee Camp from the Building deck. He did a great job making this one dreary and stark, but with awesome detail like the mud puddles. If you look closely, you can see familiar characters in line for porridge. There's the Plowman, there's General Starke before she came to lead your troops! Who's that behind her? A character who has yet to be revealed!
Here's the Barracks card from the Building deck. The city's off-duty troops can be seen whiling away their off-duty hours playing some bones! This marks the completion of the 4 basic buildings in the game, along with the Chapel, Blacksmith, and Granary!
Here's his piece for Fortified Walls from the Building deck. He does such a great job with mood. These glacis reinforced walls seem so stark and imposing, looming and almost impregnable, with the single invader still trying to climb, arrows in his back, up a slope even he knows he'll never summit. It's nigh Sisyphean.
Here's his Red Castle Inn for the Building deck. I love all the little details and characters in here! There's more than just a few random heroes for hire. Look, it's Captain of the Guard and the Plowman arm wrestling in the back! The Bureaucrat is there! One of the thieves from the Thieves' Guild, and even the Mason is there! I wonder who else we might find!
Here's the Archers card from the Invader deck. I love his imagery and brush stroke style. I can't stop staring at the sky and trees in the background.
Check out the Taxman from the Refugee deck. This is noteworthy not only for how awesome it looks, but also this marks the FINAL piece of art for the entire Refugee deck. The other 3 decks are nearly done as well, and we're getting closer every day!
It's another great piece from Ted. Here's the Apothecary from the Building deck. I really love the shelves full of beakers and bottles, the fire, the cauldron, the old apothecary and his medieval glasses. But, most of all, I love the lighting effects that really make this piece.
Here's the Treasury from the Building Deck. I love his attention to environmental details like the lower half of the treasury walls with dirt and moss, the dirty soldier's tunic, and the mud-puddles at the soldiers' feet!
Here's the last 1 out of the 4 basic Hordesmen cards. Each is different from the next, but they all form a cohesive and distinctive feel for the most common cards in the Invader deck. I'm very excited to print these and begin to play with them and honored to have such great art be part of our game!
